IDENTITY: Modern Secularism vs. Biblical Worldview

Modern secular culture says, ‘You are what you FEEL, not what biology, or God, or society tells you. Follow your FEELINGS to the end, and you will then be truly who you are and the most free and happy.’

Biblical Worldivew: God tells us (in the Bible), to paraphrase/summarize: ‘Your FEELINGS do not have the highest say in who you are, I do. I made you, I love you, and I alone have legitimate rights over you. You are made in my image for my purpose to reflect my beauty and glory. But you have rejected me, and now because of your sin and rebellion against me, often times your FEELINGS are not righteous, good, or pleasing. Often times your feelings lead you astray from the truth and goodness and beauty, and into misery and alienation and self-destruction. If you want to know the truth, you have to start with me and look to Jesus to who died to rescue you from your sin and rebellion. My words (in the Scriptures) will lead you into the truth of who you really are.’
