2024 Books Read

I am thankful for the books I was able to read, listen to, and read aloud as a family. It was, as usual, a mix of those and quite a few rereads.

Some of my favorite highlights:
-Listening to  the Lord of the Rings aloud as a family (Serkis). Such a treat to introduce this to the children.
-Listening to the Chronicles of Prydain series by Lloyd Alexander (while my daughter read them). Delightful fantasy kind of between LOTR and Narnia.
-“Descent into Hell” by Charles Williams. Fantasy by one of the ‘Inklings.’ Really striking images, weird, and wonderful over to read. Probably my favorite read this year.

-“Impossible Christianity” by Kevin De Young. Because of the gospel, we really can be pleasing to God in our live and works.
-“What it Means to be a Protestant” by Gavin Ortlund. Good reminder why many–myself included–are firmly Protestant and not Roman Catholic.
-“From Disgrace to Amazing Grace” by Jonathan Aiken. Inspiring biography on John Newton–one of my favorite pastors.
